It came out a few years ago and tonight or this weekend is a great time to rent it. It’s delightfully cute, funny, and bodacious! As I laughed at the characters’ funny clothes and cute remarks, I also noticed their remarks were honest statements about how men and women see the world and what they want in their lives. The female lead was down with love because love, in her opinion, just weighed her down and led to a constrained life as a suburban housewife. The leading man was a hip, urban swinger with a gadget-filled bachelor pad who had plenty of women to love. The characters seemed at odds, which of course is a great setup for a story. You’ll have to see the movie to see what happens (I’m not going to give it all away). But, I will share this: The overall message of the movie is that women can be empowered. They can be bodacious, and still have love! Strong, Bodacious Women might put some men off, but generally those who are good matches find such women refreshing and attractive. One reason I think men find Bodacious Women attractive is because they are full of life! You don’t have to be a Victoria Secret model to be thought of as fun and exciting. But you do have to be aware of who you are and be comfortable expressing your authentic self. Down with love? I don’t think so. Up with being bodacious! Happy Bodacious Valentine's Day!
