That was one of the biggest reasons women I surveyed told me for having naked nails. Other top reasons included: "I usually don't feel like bothering with giving myself/getting a manicure or pedicure." "I'm totally incompetent at putting on polish and at present, I can't afford the salon." "I don't want to draw attention to my hands and my toes are tucked into closed-toe shoes." "My fingernails usually start chipping a day or two after they are painted." I couldn't help but detect something deeper in these reasons, reasons that were powered by silent beliefs such as "I'm not worth it," "I'm incapable," "I'm ugly," and "I'm frustrated." No doubt, at one point every woman has felt overbooked, unworthy, incapable, ugly, and frustrated, including me. These feelings are real and can rule your life if you let them. But why let them? All they do is make you feel like the nail color Wet Leaves. By taking at little time for yourself - about 45 minutes every two weeks - to do your finger or toenails using my four steps (they are coming, promise!), you can start to replace feelings of stress, unworthiness, fear, and frustration with sanity, confidence, and fun. You don't have to spend the time or money to go to a nail salon, though it's certainly a nice treat. You can do these steps in the comfort of your home, by yourself, instead of watching TV. As one gal told me, "It's just one of those little things I get to do for ME!" Are you worth taking a mere 45 min every couple of weeks to do something just for you? Your true, authentic self is wondering. Comments: |
